Win or Loose you move forward

Progress Requires Growth was founded upon me making steps toward bettering a less than favorable situation. If you ever get the chance to talk to me or view some of the work from the brand’s social media Facebook: @Progress Requires Growth denim, Instagram/Twitter: @prg_denim I often talk about developing or working on a goal or dream that won’t/wouldn’t allow me to give up prematurely, here’s year number 5 and I’m not making emotional decision based off of someone else’s definition of success.

The brand’s ambassadors, my business mentors and myself agreed that it would be cool bring this shark tank presentation to the viewers. Here’s why:

It allows peers, supporters, and people inquiring about the steps PRG has taken in attempt to make it to the next level to see those steps firsthand.

It serves as a realistic opportunity for those wanting to build a clothing line to see what steps they may need to take or not, for that matter, towards building a brand.

Seeing rejection. No We didn’t win. But we won the opportunity to apply knowledge and to let the panel know “yeah we here…with or without your money”.

To give my honest opinion about how I feel about elevator pitches, exposing ideas to deemed successfully professional only for them to act as if they didn’t have to “start somewhere”

And the application of Progress Requires Growth (working on something that won’t allow me to give up)

In reference to the last bullet point. I believe in something, a source, a reason larger than money or myself. Some call it God. Some call it the Universe. I think we can agree whatever title you give it “it” gives us purpose. I believe in something greater or that this mere idea of motivating others to move forward even if Progress is slow- was not thought of just to be shot down by some cool but often out of touch professionals (out of touch by probably not considering the lack of resources or available guidance) and that isn’t an insult I have had close friends, girlfriends and others that don’t believe in something that’s ultimately here to give hope to the same individuals shooting the idea down, but also who see the brands byproduct daily. —> you have to believe in you enough to say “Yeah I’m sure they mean well, but I can’t let one failed operation or the opinions of others get me of this course.”

After a heated debate with a close friend in the parking lot after the presentation about why I “shouldn’t” be mad (I think they failed to realize the time vested into the presentation, the emotional attachment and passion I have towards PRG, and the fact I hate loosing). The gaining of a mentor and friend, the guy who put on the program, and the consideration and application of the advise of some of the panelists, Progress Requires Growth has been well you know…moving forward bringing you stylish clothing and accessories but still here to tell you Aye yo keep going!

The Patch

The fact that the patch is hand stitch is only a small detail in the grand scheme of the brand’s entirty. The patch encompasses the essence of human nature. Added to how often we hang on to worn jeans because they gain character. Thats what PRG is destine to shed light on. For a person to hang on even if.
